Base 51

Description: Base 51 provides a wide range of confidential support and services for young people aged 12-25 years. Services include counselling, under 18's service, medical service, contraception & sexual health service, condom registration point (C-Card). Drugs and alcohol advice, housing advice, benefits advice, rough sleepers support, support for young parents, accredited learning opportunities, learning support scheme.
Practical services include showers, laundry and cafe.

Criteria: Young people aged 12-25 years

Emmanuel House Day Centre

Description: Emmanuel House is day centre where people can come for shelter, warmth, food, advice and acceptance. Services include support services, welfare rights, drug and alcohol support and help with resettlement. Subsidised food and clothing. Haircutting. Shower. Access to PCs

Criteria: Anyone 16 or over (35 and over in the evenings).

Framework - Handel Street Day Centre

Description: The Handel Street Centre is a safe haven off the streets for homeless heavy drinkers and rough sleepers with substance misuse issues. Alcohol is decanted into plastic bottles and users can drink in the 'wet' area. There is a 'dry' area where users can go to play cards, read the papers or watch television.

Criteria: Homeless heavy drinkers and rough sleepers with substance misuse issues over the age of 18.

Minimum age: 18

Friary Drop In

Description: This service provides a low level of floating support for people with a history of, and vulnerability to, tenancy failure. The Drop-In also runs a day centre for primary health care, food and clothing.

Criteria: People, including couples and those with children, who are homeless or refugees, or who have tenancy sustainment difficulties because of unemployment, mental health problems, addiction or offending behaviour.
Min age: 16.
Will not accept people who need a higher level of support than can be provided by the project.

Minimum age: 16

Referral Procedure Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.
Call in, interview and assessment of suitability.
