Description: AA is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and to help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking alcohol.

The out-patient community base offers a comprehensive treatment service for clients who have drug related problems. Description: Offering individual treatment for people with alcohol problems. Fast track assessments offered in partnership with the Hospital Alcohol and Drugs Liaison Team, also facilitating early discharge from general medical wards (often within 24 hours). Ensuring high quality care is transferred directly to the team, to continue detoxification incorporating close monitoring of any existing health problems and relapse prevention. Each service user has a programme of care designed to meet their individual needs, co-ordinated by their key worker. Group therapy, abstinence and controlled drinking programmes run along side other therapy groups, such as anxiety management and complementary therapies.
Criteria: Age 18 and over. History of excessive alcohol misuse with physical/mental health related difficulties. Safe guarding issues, offending behaviour including perpetrators and victims of domestic violence, for those based within the Nottinghamshire area.
