Emergency Accommodation for Women

Description: Staff provide help and advice on benefits, careers and emotional support and referrals to other specialist agencies.

Criteria: Young single homeless women aged 16-25, including those who are not more than 6 months pregnant. Must have a local connection to Nottingham city.

Will not accept women with very high support needs which cannot be met by the project, or drug use that will place others at risk.

Hucknall Night Stop

Description: This service provides temporary emergency accommodation in the homes of trained volunteer hosts. Accommodation is usually for 1 night only with the young person returning to the referral or other appropriate agencies in the morning to make arrangements for long term accommodation.

Criteria: Young single homeless people aged 16-25.

Will not accept people under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of referral or a history of violence or sexual crimes.

Minimum age: 16

Karibu Foyer

Description: Staff provide support around training, education and employment, life skills and resettlement into independent living. Can access visits from mental health or drug and alcohol outreach staff.

Criteria: Young single homeless people 16-25 with low to medium support needs.

Will not accept people with convictions for sex offences or arson, or people with a severe drug or alcohol issue.

Minimum age: 16

Nacro Housing

Description: Staff meet with residents 2-3 times each week and provide advice and support around managing money, cooking, household skills, benefits, training, education, employment, health and personal problems and making friends/finding social and leisure activities.

Criteria: Young single homeless people aged 16-25 who needed supported accommodation, including ex-offenders and care leavers. Applicants must have a local connections.

Minimum age: 16

Nacro Housing - Elm Avenue Scheme

Description: Residents are expected to accept the support agreed between themselves and staff. Support sessions are initially 2-3 times per week, then weekly when the resident moves onto cluster property. Broxtowe College run an accredited in house literacy and numeracy course.

Criteria: Young single homeless people aged 16-25 who have been referred by Nottingham City Council. Must have a local connection to Nottingham city.

Minimum age: 16

Nottingham Community HA - Corporation Oaks

Description: Staff provide support with budgeting, welfare rights, accessing employment and training opportunities. Access to NCHA Young Persons Awards Scheme.

Criteria: Young single homeless people aged 16-25 with low to medium support needs.

Will not accept people with a history of arson, sexual offences or rent arrears with NCHA.

Nottingham Night Stop

Description: This service provides emergency overnight accommodation in the homes of volunteer hosts for young single homeless people. Young person is collected from the hosts home the following morning to go to the referral agency.

Criteria: Young single homeless people or those who are vulnerably housed.

Will not accept people with a history of sexual violence or serious violence or people with a medical condition that is not properly controlled or people under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of referral.Ages 16-25.

Minimum age: 16

Stepping Stones

Description: Staff meet regularly with residents to provide advice and practical support through personal development plans. In-house training also provided by Broxtowe College.

Criteria: Young homeless people aged 16-25 capable of semi-independent living.

Will not accept people with convictions for sex offences or arson.

Minimum age: 16
